SPECIALTY AREA: IT Architecture Design Engineering and Business Development

Ed Beckmann is CEO of Beckmann Consulting, Inc., providing IT architecture design engineering for a variety of greenfield assignments such as developing the IT infrastructure for a new e-insurance company. Mr. Beckmann has extensive experience in technology development, testing, implementation and business development, having helped to create the IT backbone for Earthlink as well as for pre and post dotcom startups. His clients have included companies such as IBM, Pac Bell, LA County, Videotron and Southern California Edison. Several years ago, he founded Expansion Systems Corporation, a developer of software services and products, subsequently sold to a billing software company. Earlier in his career, he worked for Honeywell in Operating System Development. At Storage Technology, he pioneered optical drive development in the 1980s, created software VLSI fabrication tools as well as participated in pre-PC personal computer development. He also worked in engineering and engineering management for Marietta Aerospace and Xerox Corporation. He has a BS from California Institute of Technology.
