Sung Bae Kim, Partner Sung Bae Kim has 18 years experience in investment banking in Washington, DC., and Seoul, South Korea. At Clemensen Capital, Mr. Kim originates, arranges and structures large-scale consortium deals for US, European and Asian corporate entities and financial institutions to finance development of games, animation projects, movies, record albums and theme parks. Prior to joining Clemensen Capital, he was a founder of Cyonex, a Korean game development company whose shareholders included a prominent globally recognized entertainer and Japanese media company. During the 1990s, Mr. Kim was Chief Operating Officer of Union Finance and Investment Corporation, an investment banking firm specializing in cross border structured finance and project finance deals. During the severe economic crisis affecting Asia in late 1990’s, he introduced non-recourse based financing for $750 million in short term funding, bridge financing and floating rate note programs for numerous clients including governmental agencies, leading banks and operating companies. He also represented a leading British merchant bank in execution of US$300 million structured trade and corporate finance deals. He advised one of the most famous singers in the world on creating US$200 million ABS bond and provided an evaluation of future cash flows from record albums for this pop legend. In Washington DC, Mr. Kim was financial advisor to a global engineering, procurement and construction contractor for its work on a US$1.5 billion 1,200MW coal-fired power plant project in China. Mr. Kim has an MBA
from George Washington University, Washington DC.
